We Love Wyndham

Articles

Essays by people who live here, published under their own name and photograph.

Nothing here yet, and that is deliberate

We have not published any essays yet. We would rather show you an empty shelf and the rules we will publish by than fill this page with something written to look busy. If you live in Wyndham and have something to say, the first piece here could be yours.

How we publish

These rules are borrowed from community essay sections that have stayed good for years rather than months. Every one of them exists because somewhere, its absence broke a section.

  • Around 800 words. Shorter is usually better.
  • Your name, a photograph and a one-line biography. We do not publish anonymous pieces: a name attached to an argument is what separates a contribution from a complaint.
  • Exclusive to us. Not published elsewhere first.
  • One piece per writer per month, so a few voices cannot become the whole section.
  • We rate-limit predictably heated topics, so one issue cannot swamp everything else.
  • No orchestrated campaigns. If twelve near-identical pieces arrive in a week, we will publish at most one.
  • We copy-edit lightly and check facts. The voice stays yours.

The wall

Articles sit on the Celebrate side of this site. They are opinion, clearly marked, and they are not how we hold anyone to account. That work happens in Projects and Advocacy, where every claim carries a source and a date.
